(OLNEY) A Regional Storm Spotter Training is coming up next Wednesday night, January 31, at the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport, at the east edge of Mt. Vernon, starting at 6:30. The free, two hour class, will feature many weather pictures and videos as well as updated information on how to become a well-informed storm spotter. Those attending will learn about weather phenomena such as tornadoes, funnel clouds, wall clouds, severe thunderstorms, hail, lightning, down bursts, flash flooding, and more. The training is sponsored by the National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky, the Amateur Radio Club of Mt. Vernon, the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport Authority, and several downstate local Emergency Management Agencies. The training is open to one and all.
