(OLNEY/NEWTON) While the northern half of Illinois continues with weather advisories due to falling snow, our downstate region may have to deal with some wintry precipitation twice over the next 48 hours. The low pressure storm system over the state will drop more snow to our north tonight, but bring us rain chances after midnight and intermittent chances of freezing rain tomorrow morning. The rest of Saturday is mostly dry with colder air moving in on a northerly wind and more of the same with rain, then freezing rain, tomorrow night into Sunday morning. We’ll dry out Sunday afternoon with then more dry conditions expected through the first half of next week, plus warmer air returning next Tuesday and Wednesday, back into the 40’s, maybe 50’s.
