(OLNEY) The Illinois Board of Higher Education has selected Olney Central College Instructor Anne Hustad, MSN, RN, CNE, as a Nurse Educator Fellow. The IECC employee was one of nineteen (19) distinguished educators from across the state chosen to take part in the Nurse Educator Fellowship Program. Now in its 10th year, the competitive program’s purpose is to ensure the retention of well-qualified nursing faculty at institutions of higher education that award nursing degrees. The selected Fellows may use the funds provided to pay for professional development, conference expenses, continued education, and/or professional dues. Hustad indicates she plans to pursue a doctor of nursing practice degree and will utilize her stipend to assist with related costs. All of the awardees will be honored at an awards ceremony in June, later this year. Hustad joined OCC as a nursing instructor in 2005 and became the program’s department head that same year and continues to serve in that capacity. Congratulations to Anne on the selection.
