(OLNEY) The Richland County Board met for a special meeting yesterday (2/22/18) afternoon in Olney with only one item on the agenda. The Board heard an update from ADG Architects from Mt. Carmel on the county’s Animal Control Building project as a third draft of plans was submitted for review with a raw estimate cost of just over $270,000. The County Board directed the architect to continue with project drawings and to develop building specifications and then seek bids. The new Animal Control Building will be located on county property located in the 400 block of South Linn Street. County officials hope to break ground for the project by the end of summer, if not sooner. The next regular meeting for the County Board is March 8.
