(OLNEY/NEWTON) Voting for the March 20, 2018 Primary Election is now being conducted in County Clerk’s offices throughout Illinois and various ways to vote prior to the election are available. EARLY VOTING : If registered voters want to vote early for any or no reason, they can vote in person at their respective County Clerk’s office with no appointment necessary, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 to 4:00, each day. The Early Voting ends March 19. GRACE PERIOD VOTING : This is for a qualified voter who failed to register or change their address previous to the close of registration. A voter may go to their County Clerk’s office, register to vote and vote at that same time. VOTE BY MAIL : To do this, voters can call their County Clerk’s office and it will mail out an application. The application will then be returned to the Clerk’s office and then it will return in the mail a March 20 Primary Election ballot. The ballot can then be returned to the Clerk’s office by mail or carried in-person. Those who’d like to Vote by Mail should call their County Clerk’s office as soon as possible. COUNTY CLERK’S : Regular office hours at the Richland County or Jasper County Clerk’s offices, plus all others in surrounding counties, are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 to 4:00.
