(OLNEY/NEWTON) With a warm front now extending eastward along the I-80 corridor through Northern Illinois and with an approaching cold front out to our west over the High Plains, we’re enjoying our warmest weather conditions of 2018 so far, although with a strong and gusty south/southwest wind. We’ll have plenty of sunshine today with more clouds moving in ahead of the cold front tomorrow, but no rain is in the forecast until late tomorrow night, mostly likely after midnight. There is a chance of some thunderstorm activity with some severe weather possible, mostly during the overnight hours early Saturday morning. Then we’ll have some lingering rain Saturday before the cold front brings us cooler air for Sunday and we’ll dry out for the first half of next week. Stay tuned to a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for weather updates and details.
