The “Step Up For Down Syndrome with Sophie Finn” 5K Run/Walk is Saturday morning, May 5, at Peterson Park in Newton. All ages are invited. It’s sign up at 8:00 with the 5K Run/Walk to start at 9:00.
The 18th annual Noble MayFest is this coming Saturday, May 5, in the Noble Village Park. The car show registration is from 9:00 to 12:00 noon with a $10 fee per vehicle. TrustBank will host its annual Lawn & Garden Show this Saturday, May 5, from 9:00 to 2:00, at 500 East Main Street, in downtown Olney. Free hot dogs and soda will be served starting at 11:00, plus a Bake Sale from 9:00 until sold out will have all proceeds going to the local Shelter Friends.
The Calvary Baptist Church in Olney will have a Pork Burger Cookout this Saturday, May 5, at Rural King in Olney, with serving from 10:00 to 2:00. All proceeds raised is for a mission trip later this year in September to Ontario, Canada. All are invited out to help out.
The Olney Central College Science Club will hold its annual “Plant Sale” this Wednesday, May 2, from 11:00 to 2:00, in the hallway, just outside the Student Services Office at OCC. A variety of organically grown herbs, flowers, and vegetables will be available. All proceeds go right back to the Science Club.
The Illinois Eastern Community Colleges will present a Career Fair today at Lincoln Trail College north and east of Robinson. That’s from 10:00 to 2:00 on this Monday in the LTC Gym. The event will feature various other colleges & universities, plus local and area businesses. All students and the public is invited.
The Carle Richland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host a Nature Creation Birdhouse Sale today in the hospital’s private dining rooms from 8:00 to 3:30. Many different types of birdhouses will be available for purchase with some great Mother’s Day ideas. All proceeds go to the various Auxiliary projects at CRMH.
