(OLNEY) The City of Olney will begin its regular mosquito control program on this Monday, May 21st. All areas of the City will be sprayed twice per week on Mondays and Thursdays beginning at dusk. While city workers treat areas of standing water with larvaecide to battle mosquito eggs, adult mosquitoes are treated with chemicals sprayed from a fogging machine. Meanwhile, homeowners and other city residents can take individual steps to battle mosquitoes in their yards and around their homes. The most helpful idea is to get rid of all areas of standing water, whether ditches, old tires, buckets, tin cans, or anything else.
(NOBLE) A reminder from the Village of Noble that the mosquito spraying throughout the village there is done on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting at dusk. Homeowners in Noble are also encouraged to help out by eliminating as much standing water areas as possible. That’s where mosquitoes lay and hatch their eggs.
