(OLNEY/NEWTON) We’ll have another downstate day of sunshine as a cold front followed by a short-wave system will keep all the rain chances further to the north, along with a little cooler air in place for upstate Illinois. But as the high pressure ridge that’s kept us dry and sunny the past few days moves off to the east, our area forecast becomes more complicated for the weekend ahead. An approaching frontal boundary will bring us rain chances as early as Friday night, then continuing on-and-off through the weekend, with our better chance of rain and storms late Saturday night through Sunday. At this time, the rain chances continue for next Monday and Tuesday. Stay tuned to a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for continued weather updates.
