the Lady Knights beat Kaskaskia, 85-82 as OCC improves to 13-8 overall and now 6-5 in the GRAC
* Kelsi Scott led OCC with 21 points, while Kayla Sanford hit six three-pointers and scored 19
* Brooke Bayles had 14 three 3’s and five free throws, plus Jillian Romero scored 12 points with 6 assists

Olney won the junior varsity game over Mt. Carmel, 62-32
the Tigers return to LIC action tomorrow night when they travel to Lawrenceville to battle the Indians

* the Fighting Illini had their hopes of an upset squashed by 10th ranked Wisconsin, 57-43
* Illinois is now 13-10 on the year and 3-7 in the Big Ten
the Illini return to conference action Saturday afternoon when they’ll host Minnesota in Champaign

 

(OLNEY)  in Boys High School Basketball last night – Olney swept two non-LIC games at home
the Tigers overpowered the visiting Bison of Grayville with a 65-50 victory in Ron Herrin Gym
* RCHS senior Gage Miller led all scorers with 25 points and led the Tigers with 6 rebounds
* Olney’s Trevor Dobbs and Dylan Klingler each added 16 points apiece
* Grayville’s Wyatt Hatcher led the Bison with a double/double, 22 points and 10 rebounds
Olney also won the junior varsity game, 75-21
the Tigers return to LIC action this Friday night when they travel to Lawrenceville to battle the Indians

* Cameron Hough led Olney with 20 points, hitting six three-pointers and a pair of free throws
* Julie Luna and Taylor Lecrone each scored 18 points apiece

two other LIC teams will be non-conference action tomorrow night
* the Newton Lady Eagles will host Palestine-Hutsonville

the IHSA Class 1A and 2A Regionals get started a week from tonight

(OLNEY)  in Boys High School Hoops last night at the LIC Conference Tournament in Robinson
Olney held on to defeat Lawrenceville 59-58
* the Tigers were led by Gage Miller with 21 points, Brent Hatten added in 10
in the other two tournament games from last night
* in the championship game – Marshall defeated Robinson 68-54
* in the consolation championship fifth place game – Flora defeated Paris 70-65
it’s back to a full schedule in the LIC for boys next Friday night, February 3rd

* then top-seeded Olney plays the Flora / Fairfield winner at 11:30
