the Tigers are scheduled to host North Clay at Bill Millspaugh Field tomorrow morning at 11:00

it will be a varsity game only on Saturday against the Cardinals

 

(OLNEY) in Junior High Volleyball the Lady Cubs finished their regular season on the road last night

At Salem. Olney lost the 8th grade game in two games 18-25 and 10-25, the Lady Cubs lost both the 7th

And 6th grade games in two. The Olney varsity squad will return to Salem for Class L Regional action next Monday to play Flora

the Olney Lady Tigers are scheduled to open up their season at home today against Flora

the Lady Tigers will then host their early season Tournament tomorrow at ERHS with four games

* Olney plays Mt. Carmel at 10:00 with Newton against Robinson at 12 noon

* the losers will play at 2:00 for third place with the winners playing at 4:00 for the championship

concessions will be available with no admission charge – check it out on Saturday

the Lady Knights lost their two GRAC Conference openers today up at Lake Land College
* OCC lost game one to the Lady Lakers, 11-3 in six innings
* OCC then lost the second game to Lake Land, 7-3
* the Lady Knights were outhit yesterday, 14 to 2 in game one and 6 to 3 in game two
* the Lady Knights drop to 9&3 on the year, now 0&2 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference
the OCC Ladies are scheduled to host Lincoln Trail in a GRAC doubleheader today at 2:00

Coach Rob Flanagan presented his Olney Tiger Basketball awards for the 2014-2015 season
* the Most Valuable Player Award went to Luke Hahn
* the Leading Rebounder Award went to Tate Nohren
* the Free Throw Percenage Award went to Tanner Stoltz
* the Field Goal Percentage Award went to Tate Nohren
* the Defensive Hustle Award went to Luke Hahn
* the Assist Leader Award went to Ethan Eagleson

the Fighting Illini lost its first round game in the NIT Tournament to Alabama, 79-58
Illinois finishes the season with a record at 19-14 overall – the finished in the Big Ten Conference at 9-9

 

(OLNEY)  the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Mens Basketball Tournament is underway
there were six first round games played this past Monday night, two of which involved District 16 teams
* Vincennes University beat Cochise College, 90-60
* John A. Logan lost to Cape Fear Community College, 76-66 – the Volunteers end their year at 27-7
there were six more games played last night as the tournament continued out in Hutchinson, Kansas
* Vincennes University lost to South Plains College, 80-68 – the Trailblazers end their season at 33-2
the NJCAA Mens Tournament continues thru Saturday night

 

(OLNEY)  the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Womens Tournament is also underway

* top-seeded Wisconsin beat 4th-seeded Purdue, 71-51
* 3rd-seeded Michigan State mildly upset 2nd-seeded Maryland, 62-58
the tournament’s championship game was yesterday
* Wisconsin came from behind to beat Michigan State in overtime, 80-69
while seven Big Ten teams were named to the NCAA Tournament, the Fighting Illini were not
but, Illinois will be in the postseason National Invitation Tournament
the Fighting Illini play at Alabama tomorrow night with an 8:00 tipoff in NIT action

* on Thursday, the Blue Knights again beat Moraine Valley Community College, 16-6
