(NEWTON) in Boys High School Basketball last night-Newton lost on the road at Effingham

Effingham St. Anthony beat the Eagles 67-39. Ben Carr and Nick Cohorst led the Eagles with 8 points.

Newton is 5-3 and will host Robinson on Friday.

 

(OLNEY) in Boys Jr. High Basketball last night- Olney split a pair of games.

Centralia beat the 8th grade team 63-48, Olney is now 10-2 and 2-0 in conference.

Olney won the 7th grade game 35-32, now 8-2, 2-0. Olney at Effingham on Thursday.

 

(OLNEY) also in Boys Jr. High Basketball- Olney St. Joe lost two to cisne.

The Wildcats lost the varsity game 49-32, Evan Uhl with 8 points. Now 7-6, 5-3 in conference.

The JV squad fell to Cisne 29-26. St. Joe travels to Clay City on Thursday.

 

(NEWTON) in Boys Jr. High Basketball- Jasper County swept Lawrenceville

Jasper County won the 8th grade game 44-34, now 8-7.

Jasper County won the 7th grade game 27-24.

Next game on January 4th at Cumberland

 

(OLNEY) in Girls Jr. High Basketball- Olney won on the road in Fairfied

Olney won the 8th grade game 45-17, Kenzie Weiler and Jocelynn VanMatre had 11 points each.

Olney now at 18-0

Olney won the 7th grade game 30-25. RCMS Lady Cubs play North Knox on Saturday

(OLNEY) in Girls High School Basketball last night- Olney won on the road

The Lady Tigers beat Marshall 51-43. Julie Luna had 23 points to lead Olney.

Marshall won the JV game 48-38

The Lady Tigers are back in action hosting Fairfield Thursday night in Ron Herrin Gym.

 

(NEWTON) in Girls High School Basketball last night- Newton takes two at Bridgeport

The Newton Lady Eagles beat Red Hill 53-29 , Newton is now 5-5 and 2-1 in the LIC

Newton also won the JV game 34-13.

The Newton Lady Eagles will host Effingham St. Anthony Thursday Night.

the Blue Knights lost at Vincennes University, 85-63
* while OCC falls back to 7-3 on the year, the Trailblazers improve to 13-0
* Josiah Wallace led the Blue Knights with 23 points, while Erikas Jakstys added 17 points
elsewhere in District 16 or Great Rivers Athletic Conference play on Saturday

* Brent Hatten led Olney with a double/double, with 17 points and 10 rebounds – Sutton Dunn scored 11
* the Tigers fall to 3-5 on the year
Fairfield also won the junior varsity game, 58-37 giving the Olney JV its first loss of the year (3-1)

the Cubs beat Harrisburg in the 8th grade game, 49-24
* Olney was led by Chase Travis with 23 points and 12 rebounds – Kitch St. Pierre added 12 points
Olney also won the 7th grade game over Harrisburg, 30-15
the varsity Cubs improve to 10-1 on the year while the junior varsity squad is now 7-2

the Lady Cubs beat Flora in the 8th grade game, 55-8
* Olney was led by Anna Blank with 22 points – Sarah Ingram & Jocelynn VanMatre combined for 16

the Lady Cubs are back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Fairfield

the Tigers beat Red Hill in varsity play, 61-55 as Olney improves to 3-4 on the year, now 1-1 in the LIC
* Olney was led by Braden Flanagan with 15 points while senior Connor Zuber poured in 14 points
* Sutton Dunn had 12 points and fellow juniors Brent Hatten and Dakotah Brown each scored 8 points
Olney won the junior varsity game, 40-27 as the jv squad remains unbeaten at 3-0
the Tigers are quickly back in action tonight as they host Fairfield in Ron Herrin Gym at RCHS

the Eagles won the varsity game over North Clay, 63-28 as Newton is now 5-2 overall
* Newton was led by Collin Harris with 14 points
* Nick Cohorst and Jack Chapman each scored 13 points apiece
Newton also won the junior varsity game, 53-37

* Renae Russell and Claire Carr each added 6 points apiece
Newton also won the junior varsity game, 26-14

* Newton was led by Adam Koebele with 8 points and Evan Schafer with 6 points
* the varsity Cubs improve to 9-1 on the year, they are 2-0 in the Junior NEC
Olney also won the 7th grade game, 37-12 as the junior varsity improves to 6-2 on the year
