(OLNEY/NEWTON) An approaching low pressure will track across northern Illinois today, giving us an increased chance of afternoon showers, maybe an isolated thunderstorm here or there. But as the system moves quickly into Indiana, it will drag a cold front through our downstate area later tonight, bringing another chance of rain until the front settles into the Ohio River Valley and the rain chances end early tomorrow morning. Then cold and dry weather conditions will be on tap for Friday as a high pressure ridge begins to build into the Midwest. Although a quick weather disturbance moves through with slight rain chances on Saturday, we’ll return to a sunny and dry sky on Sunday. An unstable frontal boundary moves in the first half of next week, with rain chances Monday through Wednesday. Stay tuned for weather updates.
