(OLNEY) With the March 20 Primary Election less than three weeks away, the Richland County School District is asking the public to consider a County School Facilities Sales Tax to serve as an alternate funding source to support a renovation project at the Richland County High School to ensure an up-to-date facility for future years. The language on the March 20 ballot is “Shall a retailer’s occupation tax and a service occupation (commonly referred to as a “Sales Tax”) be imposed in Richland County at a rate of 1% to be used exclusively for school facility purposes?” As a service to the community in trying to help answer questions that Richland County residents may have concerning the ballot question, we here at WVLN-WSEI in Olney are now soliciting questions from the public that folks may have. The public can send any questions about the proposed County School Facilities Sales Tax to us through our station website. Simply send the questions to firstname.lastname@example.org. All questions are needed by next Wednesday, March 7, and then we’ll have a sit-down and question-and-answer time with Richland County School District officials, which will then in turn be aired on Freedom 92.9 WSEI in the days leading up to the March 20 Election. We thank the public in advance for its participation in this important issue.
