(LOUISVILLE/MT. VERNON) Juveniles are in custody in two regional counties after making threats of violence to their respective schools. Authorities in Jefferson County have arrested a 13 year old student who threatened on social media to shoot up his grade school. After the threat was discovered this past Saturday, authorities took the juvenile in custody late Saturday night and charged him with Class X felony terrorist threats. He is currently awaiting his initial court appearance. Meanwhile, three juveniles were detained last Wednesday in connection with a threat of violence within the North Clay Schools in Louisville. Clay County authorities responded quickly by taking two male juveniles in custody with a third student detained a short time later. Possible Felony charges are pending with the first court appearance pending. The incident led to all classes being cancelled in Louisville last Thursday. Authorities and school officials at both locations thank all their local students, parents, and citizens for their assistance and understanding.
