(OLNEY) Olney Central College will host a Job and Career Fair on Wednesday, April 18, a week from today, from 10:00 to 2:00, in the OCC Gymnasium. Several area businesses, plus many other colleges and universities will be on hand to share what they have available. The free event is for students and the public and all are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to network and to learn more about jobs and careers.
(NEWTON/OLNEY) An aide to Congressman John Shimkus will be available a week from today, on Wednesday, April 18, to assist area constituents with any problems they may be having with federal government agencies. The staff member will be at the Louisville Village Hall from 9:30 to 11:00 in the morning, then at the Wayne City Community Building from 12:00 noon to 1:30 in the afternoon, and finally at the West Salem City Hall from 2:30 to 4:00. (NEWTON) The 100 Women Who Care Jasper County, the local circle steering committee, is gearing up for another year of charitable giving and is urging more women in Jasper County to join. The giving circle will continue its philanthropic work at the first meeting of 2018 coming up tomorrow night, April 12, at the Newton Community High School Library. With registration at 5:00 tomorrow evening, the meeting will start at 6:00, as light refreshments will be provided by NCHS Food Class students. Those attending should enter through the NCHS door #19, on the south side of the school. (NEWTON) The Embarras River Basin Agency office in Newton will be distributing federal surplus commodities tomorrow (4/12/18) from 2:00 to 4:00 while supplies last.
