The Trinity Preschool will have a fundraising cookout this Saturday at Rural King in Olney with serving from 10:00 until 2:00. They’ll have pork burgers, bratwurst, hot dogs, chips, soda, water, and cookies. All proceeds will help fund Trinity Preschool and Mom’s Morning Out at Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney.
A fundraiser to help with Fred White’s medical expenses will be held this Friday night at the Lawrence County 4-H Building along U.S. Route 50 between Sumner and Bridgeport with serving from 4:00 to 8:00. All for a free will donation at the door, they’ll be serving chili, vegetable soup, and homemade desserts, plus a live auction at 6:30 and music from Sinner’s Bridge and the Ash Band. All are invited.
Here’s a reminder for those that purchased Geraniums earlier this month from the CRMH Auxiliary, that the delivery / pick up date is this Thursday, from 8:00 to 6:00, at the Olney City Park Community Building.
The Pink Warrior Sisters of Richland County will have their monthly meeting tomorrow night at Monical’s Pizza, starting at 6:00. Those newly diagnosed with breast cancer, those in treatment for it, and all breast cancer survivors are invited out for an evening of great food, conversation, and support.
Here’s an entertainment note that our friend The Singing Blacksmith, Bryan Headley of West Salem, will have his final most recent appearance on the Rural Heritage program on RFD-TV this week. Bryan’s “Forging A Horseshoe Heart” will air tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 and again Saturday afternoon, April 28, at 2:00. The RFD-TV Network is on Direct TV Channels 345 and 231 and on Dish Network.
The Illinois Eastern Community Colleges’ will host another Career Fair tomorrow at Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel. Several businesses, companies, and other colleges and universities will be on hand. It’s all in the Spencer Sports Center Gym from 9:00 to 1:00 with all students and the public welcomed.
Lake Land College, just south of Mattoon, will host a Health-Related College Fair tonight from 6:30 to 8:00 in LLC’s Neal Hall. All high school students and parents are invited to learn about the many careers in the health field. Several colleges and universities will be represented. Free pizza and drinks provided.
