(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the release of its Long Range Transportation Plan to help advance sustainable and multimodal solutions that support local goals and grow the state’s economy. The plan, which is required by state statute, defines objectives, identifies implementation strategies, and sets measures for tracking progress. Plus, the plan makes federal funds available for statewide research and planning projects. The Long Range Transportation Plan and grant applications are available on the IDOT website online, plus the public comment period ends May 16th.
(SPRINGFIELD) With May less than a day away, the Illinois State Fair is offering the public a huge savings to purchase it Mega Pass, available now at a price of $70. A Mega Pass provides fairgoers with unlimited rides at the Carnival Midway and Adventure Village every day of the State Fair, however the Giant Slide, Sky Glide, and Tram are not included. Fairgoers will want to act quickly, as the current $70 Mega Pass price is available only until July 31st. Come August 1st, the price will increase to $90 through the end of the State Fair. (DU QUOIN) Officials at the Du Quoin State Fair have announced performances for its 2018 grandstand schedule. On a day when the entire state comes together to celebrate all that is Born, Built, and Grown in Illinois, the Du Quoin State Fair is proud to welcome a native Illinois rock ‘n’ roll band, Cheap Trick, to the grandstand stage on Sunday, August 26. The Hall of Fame band, which was formed in Rockford, Illinois in 1974, will be a key player in the state’s Bicentennial celebration. Officials also announced that one of the biggest names in country music, The Brothers Osborne, will hit the grandstand stage on Tuesday night, August 28.
