(OLNEY/NEWTON) With some patchy fog in our downstate region early this Tuesday morning, we’ll return to plenty of sunshine today, the start of another several days of dry and warm conditions. As an upper ridge of high pressure over the Plains will build toward the Midwest today through Thursday, any wet weather will pretty much stay away from our downstate area, however that ridge is expected to break down as we move into the upcoming holiday weekend. The forecast for the weekend is complicated by an evolution of potential for a tropical system developing in the Gulf of Mexico. This could give us the chance of showers and storms for Sunday and Monday as any remnant weather moves north. Stay tuned to a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for weather updates and other details.
