The Richland Heritage Museum Foundation will host a special program this Sunday afternoon at the Olney Public Library entitled “Abraham Lincoln in Illinois” beginning at 1:30. Jason Collins, current Park Ranger at the George Rogers Clark National Historic Site in Vincennes will give the free presentation. Due to the special program, the Foundation’s three museum facilities in Olney will all be closed this Sunday.
The Olney-Noble Airport will host its Spring Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast this coming Sunday, with serving from 8:00 to 11:00, all sponsored by the Olney Area Pilots Association. Everyone’s invited to attend.
The 4th Annual Classic Motor Show, to benefit the Willow Hill Fire Department, is tomorrow at Edison Park. The Calvary Baptist Church will have a fundraising cookout tomorrow at the Olney Rural King Store with serving from 10:00 to 2:00. Includes pork burgers and bratwursts, plus a special $5 meal deal, which includes a sandwich, chips, drink, and dessert. Pony rides will also be available for the youngsters.
The 2018 Richland County Fair Queen contestants have a fundraising “car wash” tomorrow at Woods Auto Body, along South Route 130, in Olney, from 9:00 until 1:00. All are encouraged to stop by and have their vehicle washed with all funds to help each young lady with their pageant expenses this year.
A fundraising cookout is today at the Olney IGA, with serving from 10:30 to 1:30, all to benefit the Fox River Apartments resident activity fund. Includes pork burgers, brats, chips, and drinks.
And after yesterday’s storms, a reminder that the Olney brush dump is open today, on this Friday, June 1, from 7:30 this morning until 4:00 this afternoon. The brush dump will also be open tomorrow, on Saturday, with the regular hours from 10:00 to 4:00. Then it’s back open next Monday, also from 10:00 to 4:00.
