(OLNEY/NEWTON) With a high pressure ridge centered over southeast Missouri and a cold front extending from the Dakotas into the Upper Midwest, we’ll stay dry today with plenty of sunshine while all the rain chances will stay well to our north. As that front drops southward, the rain stays north and there’s no real change for us other than maybe a few clouds. Then some warmer air returns for tomorrow and the rest of the work week as the rain chances stay to the north, we’ll still see plenty of sunshine for the rest of the week. As the high pressure moves eastward, a major low pressure system will eventually move through our downstate region with our next real rain chance coming up Friday night, through Saturday, and into Sunday, but not a total wash out.
