(NEWTON/OLNEY) It was another round of shower and thunderstorm activity yesterday, but for regions in the southern part of our listening area. From Mt. Carmel to Albion to Fairfield and to Mt. Vernon, they received anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of rain with some area of flooding along the Route 15 corridor. While no flood warnings have been issued, there are still areas of extreme flooding, especially those spots that received upwards of 3 to 9 inches of rain from Central Illinois down through Southeastern Illinois. All should be alert to the flooding and all motorists are reminded to not drive on roads that are flooded.
