(NEWTON) In celebration of Burl Ives’ birthday yesterday on June 14th, the New Christy Minstrels, under the direction of Randy Sparks, will present a Foundation Concert in the Newton Community High School Auditorium this afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 with the demonstration of instruments and a concert of Folk Music. The New Christy Minstrels will wrap up their Jasper County visit with a public concert tonight, also in the NCHS Auditorium, starting at 7:00, with the doors to open at 6:00, followed by a “meet & greet” after the concert. The $20 per person ticket for the concert also includes a visit to the Burl Ives Mini Mobile Museum. All are invited to attend. (OLNEY) The Future Business Leaders of America at Richland County High School will have a community day fundraiser next Tuesday, June 19, at Monical’s Pizza in Olney. Fill out a FBLA fundraising flyer and a portion of the bill will be donated to the FBLA. The members will also have a fundraising pork burger & bake sale tomorrow at the CVS in Olney, with serving from 10:00 until 1:30, or until sold out. Proceeds from both events will help qualifying FBLA members attend an upcoming National Leadership Conference.
