(OLNEY/NEWTON) With a warm front off to our west hanging over Missouri, an associated weak short wave system is causing some isolated showers and thunderstorms in our region, but they will quickly die out as we move into the afternoon hours. That’s when our heat and humidity levels will rise, especially as we move through the weekend, tomorrow and Sunday. While a Heat Advisory is in effect today for all areas to our west, the Heat Advisories are expected for all of our downstate area for the rest of the weekend ahead. And with all the heat and high humidity levels in place, we cannot rule out an isolated thunderstorm each afternoon, although they’ll be few and far between, if any. Our next significant chance of rain rolls in with a frontal boundary next Tuesday. Stay tuned to a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for weather updates and warnings.
