(NEWTON) The 2018 Jasper County Fair is underway in Newton as floral hall exhibits will continue to be set up this morning from 8:00 to 11:00, the judging will take place later this afternoon. The first main event of this year’s fair is the 2018 Jasper County Fair Queen Pageant coming up Monday night, starting on the stage at 7:30 and overseen by current Fair Queen Kennedy Parr. The five young ladies competing for this year’s crown and right to represent the fair and all of Jasper County for the next year are 19 year old Lauren Probst (daughter of Phil & Angie Probst), 19 year old Sadie Brewer (daughter of John Brewer & Heather Wilson), 18 year old Paige Klingler (daughter of Tony Klingler & Jamie Davis), 17 year old Mykayla Spelbring (daughter of Travis & Courtney Spelbring and Wendy & Ray Paige), and 16 year old Renee Probst (daughter of Toby & Margie Probst). The popular Little Miss Pageant will also be held Monday night as well. Next Tuesday night is the Pedal Tractor Pull, Talent Contest, and Flat Drags, followed by plenty of livestock judging next Wednesday and the Lil Monster Trucks featured that night. The 4-H Livestock Auction is next Thursday evening with Tractor & Truck Pulling that night, followed by the Antique Farm Machinery Show Friday from 10:00 to 2:00, the first afternoon of Harness Racing at noon next Friday, and the Fair’s Rodeo that night. Then the Volleyball Tournament next Saturday, more Harness Racing at noon, and annual Demolition Derby next Saturday night. Sunday evening will finish thing up with plenty of live entertainment by local talent and the Fireworks Sunday night at around 9:30. The Fair’s Carnival Rides will be available next Tuesday through Sunday from 6:00 to 10:00 each night. Admission tickets will be at a reduced price next Friday and Saturday at the gate and advanced ticket sales are only available today, this June 23, from 8:00 to 4:00, at the Floral Hall, otherwise all front gate admission will be $5 per person per day. Box seat holders can get their tickets during the same time. Everyone’s invited out to the 2018 Jasper County Fair running through all of next week on the fairgrounds in Newton.
