(OLNEY/NEWTON) A high pressure ridge hanging over the Upper Midwest will give us another hot and humid day on this Tuesday. After some patchy fog burns off this morning, we’ll have a mixture of some clouds and some sunshine today and as an old frontal boundary near the Ohio River lifts northward through our downstate region this afternoon, we could see some isolated showers and/or thunderstorms before ending later on. Then it’s more heat and humidity in place for Independence Day on Wednesday and on Thursday. We return to a rain and storm chance Thursday night and Friday as a cold front slips into our area from the north, bringing not only rain chances, but a little cooler and less humid air into Southern Illinois. Stay tuned to a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for weather updates and/or other information.
