(SPRINGFIELD) The USDA has released the Illinois Crop Production Report for winter wheat. As we reported yesterday, the harvested area for 2018 winter wheat in Illinois is forecast at 550,000 acres, up 17% from the previous year. The winter wheat yield is forecast at 69 bushels per acre, down 7 bushels an acre from last year in 2017. The winter wheat production number is forecast at 38 million bushels overall, that’s 6% above the previous year number. All details from the National Agriculture Statistics Service.
