The Fox River Assisted Living Apartments will host an “Open House” Ice Cream Social this Saturday (7/21/18) afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00. The event will feature 2 Cuz’ns Entertainment from Vincennes with World War II era & country oldies, hourly door prizes, and tours with facility information. All are welcome.
The Annual “Original” Jonah Fish Fry is this Friday (7/20/18) evening at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, along the blacktop north of Dieterich, with serving from 4:30 to 7:30. All in the air-conditioned fellowship hall, it’s all-you-can-eat with tickets for adults and children at the door, plus carry-outs available. All are invited.
The Catholic Charities’ Ramblin’ Rose Bus will have its second of five stops this month coming up tomorrow (7/18/18) evening from 4:00 to 6:00 in Ramsey, at the Lion’s Club Pavilion. The Ramblin’ Rose offers free basic school supplies, plus clothing for children in grades K thru 12, serving the area counties of Jasper, Cumberland, Crawford, Clark, Effingham, Fayette, and Shelby. The other stops in July will be in Shelbyville, Mason, and St. Elmo. The stops in the month of August will be in Marshall, Beecher City, Altamont, and Robinson. The Big Blue Book Bus is back this Tuesday (7/17/18) afternoon and evening from 3:00 to 7:00 at the TrustBank parking lot along East Main Street in downtown Olney. Sponsored by the Richland County Schools and the Rotary Club of Richland County, the mobile library is available to Richland County students Pre-K through 8th Grade with no library card and/or identification needed. On Thursday, the Bus visits the Noble Village Park from 3:30 to 4:30 and the Dundas Ruritan Building from 5:00 to 6:00.
The Richland County Farmer’s Market is back to its regular location today (7/17/18) in the Olney City Park, from 9:00 to 4:00. It includes farm fresh produce, baked items, and more, all available to the public for purchase.
The Olney Public Library will host magician Chris Egleston this afternoon (7/17/18) at 2:00. Admission is free and open to the public. The interactive and fun “Reading is Magic Show” is suitable for children of all ages.
