(OLNEY/NEWTON) It’s another quiet day on tap today as high pressure dominates the Midwestern and Great Lakes region weather. However, an approaching shortwave system currently entering the western Dakotas will bring us our next rain chances late tomorrow night, or actually early Friday morning, although our better chances of getting wet is Friday afternoon through Friday night. That’s when a cold front will be pushing across our downstate area with the potential of some severe weather conditions with hail and some damaging winds possible. A few showers may linger into Saturday, although most of the weekend appears to be dry to this point. The cold front will also bring with it some cooler air for a very pleasant Sunday and first part of next week. Stay tuned to a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for weather updates and information.
