(OLNEY) There were a couple of municipal meetings this past Monday night at the Olney City Hall.
BOARD OF APPEALS : After approving the minutes from the June 4, 2018 meeting, the Board of Appeals voted unanimously to grant a variance to Dennis & Geri Hunt at the property located at 1510 North Fair Street to allow for a 17-foot setback rather than the normally-required 25 foot setback. This was to allow the petitioners to keep a recently placed building on the said property.
PLAN COMMISSION : After approving the minutes from the May 7, 2018 meeting, the Plan Commission heard from Nexamp about who they are and the scope of their proposed projects requesting Special Use Permits. Several City of Olney residents were in attendance voicing their concerns about the proposed projects near their homes. After lengthy discussion, the Plan Commission unanimously voted to recommend denial of the Special Use Permit request at 906 West Mack Avenue and Vacant Land with Tax ID 06-28-450-022. The Plan Commission then voted unanimously to recommend approval of the Special Use Permit requests near Route 50 and Shipley Road with Tax IDs 11-05-300-007 and 11-05-300-008. All recommendations from the Plan Commission will be heard by the Olney City Council for official approval or denial at the next Council’s meeting, which will be held next Monday night, August 13, at 7:00.
