(OLNEY/NEWTON) A low pressure area in northeast Kansas will slowly move across northern Missouri today and then into the northern part of Illinois tonight. This will bring showers and thunderstorms to our downstate region as early as today, but then continuing through tonight and tomorrow with some heavy amounts of rainfall possible at times. The slow-moving cold front will then give us on-and-off-again rain chances Thursday night through Friday and even into Saturday, although it will not be raining the whole time. We’ll dry out Saturday night and Sunday before another storm system brings us rain chances the first of next week. Stay tuned for continued weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio as well.
