(OLNEY/NEWTON) As a cold front continues to slowly crawl across the Midwest today our showers and isolated thunderstorms this morning will end and after a dry period into early this afternoon with maybe some sunshine between the clouds, we’ll have another chance of showers and storms later this afternoon towards evening as the front actually moves across our downstate region. Then maybe some lingering rain chances tonight although we’ll dry out after midnight. That cold front becomes a pesky weak upper level trof as it moves through Indiana, but it’s still close enough to our region that it could produce an isolated shower or possibly a thunderstorm tomorrow afternoon, although most of should stay dry. Anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected by the time it comes to an end sometime on Saturday. We’ll for sure have a dry and sunny Sunday although another approaching cold front will bring more rain chances for Monday and Tuesday with cooler air to follow.
