The Quasquicentennial Celebration continues today in Dieterich, featuring a tractor show, the Quasquicentennial Parade at 11:00 this morning, then this afternoon a vintage baseball game, carriage rides, petting zoo, quilt show, magic show, and live entertainment. The BBQ cook-off is from 4:00 to 7:00 this evening, plus other food and crafts both today and tomorrow including a car show to wrap it up on Sunday.
The Sailor Springs American Legion has a “fish fry” and raffle drawing this evening from 4:00 until sold out. It’s Flat Head or Channel Cat fish with all the fixins’ for a donation at the door. $10 raffle tickets on sale with the top prize a freezer and a $250 gift certificate from Blair’s Meat Processing west of Louisville, plus other cash prizes. Only 100 raffle tickets.
It’s Ralph Carter’s 25th Poker Run Benefit / Memorial Ride today with all proceeds to Shriners Children’s Hospital and the Richland County Shop With A Cop program. Sign up at the Olney VFW from 10:30 to 12 noon this morning. All vehicles are welcome to take part. A bike show, auction, food, and live entertainment will follow at the Olney VFW this evening.
The Newton Boy Scout Troop 156 will have a fundraising “pork burger sale” today from 10:00 to 1:30 at the Newton Eagles Club, on the Square in Newton. All are invited. Proceeds to help with activities.
The Richland County Farm Bureau Young Leaders will host their 7th Annual Trap Shoot today at the County Line Gun Club, north of Route 50 at Hites Hardwood, west of Noble. Registration at 9:00 with shooting at 10:00, plus a meal for purchase. The fees are $25 for individuals, $125 for teams.
The 31st Annual White Squirrel Cruisers Car Show is today in the Olney City Park. Registration this morning from 9:00 to 12 noon for the special Reunion Car Show with all vehicles welcome. No classes, 5 spotlight drawings, 18 special trophies, & plenty of food vendors. All are invited to attend.
The First Baptist Church of Newton will continue its Summer Fiesta & Rummage Give Away today from 8:00 to 2:00 with inflatable games, carnival games, hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones, sodas, and more from 11:00 to 2:00. Everything is free and all are welcome to attend.
