(OLNEY/NEWTON) Illinois State Police District 12 Commander, Captain Cory Ristvedt, has released the activity and enforcement figures for July. The District 12 Troopers answered 216 calls for service and initiated 1,284 incidents in the field during the 31 days and nights. The law enforcement stats show 561 citations and 683 written warnings were issued last month, including 323 speeding tickets, 201 written warnings for speeding, 39 seat belt citations, 5 DUI’s, and 3 child restraint citations. Troopers also assisted 253 motorists, conducted 196 motor carrier inspections, and investigated 60 traffic wrecks, two of which involved a fatality. There were 393 tickets for the “Fatal Four” violations, those that are most associated with fatal traffic crashes, including DUI, speeding, distracted driving, and failure to wear a seat belt.
