(OLNEY/NEWTON) Despite another hot and humid day on tap for this Tuesday, some relief is on its way. The National Weather Service still has the Heat Advisory in effect until 7:00 tonight with our high again expected in the low 90’s with heat index values today over 100 degrees. We’ll see clouds move in tomorrow morning as the low pressure system to our northwest drags a cold front through Illinois by late tomorrow afternoon. That means rain chances with possibly some thunderstorm activity for Wednesday with most of the rain ending shortly after midnight. Then less humid air settles in with sunshine Thursday and Friday. However, very warm and humid air likely returns for the Labor Day weekend with the chance of isolated showers and storms Saturday through Sunday. Be listening for continued weather updates and details, and be monitoring a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for any possible severe storm warnings or alerts.
