(SPRINGFIELD) The USDA has released the July Agricultural Prices Report for Illinois. The July Prices Received Index (Agricultural Production) dropped 3.8% from the previous month of June. Meanwhile the Crop Production Index decreased 3.9% and the Livestock Production Index went down 3.1%. Producers received lower prices in July for milk, broilers, grapes, and cattle, however the prices were higher for eggs, strawberries, and onions. In addition to prices, the indexes are influenced by the volume change of commodities producers market. Decreased monthly movement of milk, oranges, cattle, and broilers offset the increased marketing of grapes, wheat, hay, and cotton. All the numbers are on the USDA website.
