Due to the Labor Day holiday, the library at the Grove Township Community Center will be closed next Monday. The library will be open again the following Monday morning, September 10, from 9:00 to 10:00.
The annual Calhoun Community Club Chowder is Monday with serving to start at 11:00 in the morning. All are invited out for chowder and much more in Calhoun. That’s this coming Monday, Labor Day 2018.
The Ingraham Labor Day Picnic and Tractor Pull is Monday. With the Truck Pulls to start at 9:00 in the morning, including a brush class for semi trucks, the Tractor Pulls will follow with tickets at the gate and all visitors should bring lawn chairs. The fried chicken dinners will be served from 11:00 to 1:00 in the Community Hall with tickets at the door, plus a vegetable soup supper by the bowl starting at 4:00 with soup sold by the bulk after 5:00, bring your own containers. Also a lunch stand with other food, inflatables, a raffle drawing at 6:00 and plenty of live music. That’s all in Ingraham next Monday, on Labor Day.
The 181st Annual St. Mary’s Pre-Labor Day Picnic is this Sunday in Ste. Marie. The pork loin & chicken dinners served from 11:00 to 5:00 with the $9 adult and $4 children (10 and under) tickets on sale at the door. There’ll be other food, including pork burgers, brats, ice cream, and soda, plus plenty of kids’ games, a beer garden, country store, raffles, bingo, white elephant stand, & much more on Sunday.
The Annual Berryville Chowder is tomorrow with serving to start at 11:00 in the morning. It’s first come, first served until the chowder is all gone with the cost at $16 per gallon, plus assistance will be available to vehicles. The Berryville Community Center will be serving the chowder by the bowl, along with fish, hamburgers, drinks, and homemade pies and cakes. Also a basket raffle with tickets on sale, plus a bounce house for the kids, and the Amish Community on hand with fresh baked goodies as well.
The Pioneer City Labor Day celebration is underway in Palestine. The first of three PRCA Rodeo performances is tonight at 7:00 with plenty of concessions. Tomorrow starts off with the Chuckwagon Breakfast at 7:00 in the morning with the all-day Antique Gas Engine Exhibit and Model Railroad Exhibit, the Junior Pedal Tractor Pull at 10:00, Lunch with the Clowns from 11:00 to 1:00, a Corn Hole Tournament at 1:00, and various other games, concessions, and activities. The second Rodeo performance is Saturday night at 7:00. Then Sunday morning’s Annual Church Service at 10:15, the Bean Dinner from 11:00 to 1:30, more afternoon entertainment, and the third and final Rodeo performance at 7:00 Sunday night.
