(OLNEY/NEWTON) A high pressure ridge centered over the southeast United States has a ridge extending up to the northwest across Central Illinois. This will continue to bring warm and moist air into our region through tonight. This will also keep us dry until the frontal boundary completely lifts northward with our next chance of downstate rain moves in this coming weekend. Our first chance of rain and thunderstorms will move through Thursday afternoon, with the chances increasing Friday through Saturday. However, the tropical system developing in the Gulf is likely to effect the Midwestern weather by the end of the week, one way or the other. Stay tuned to a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for weather updates and information.
