(OLNEY) It’s been announced that our good friend “The Singing Blacksmith” will be reappearing twice next week on the Rural Heritage Program on RFD-TV. Bryan Headley’s latest taping will be aired next Tuesday afternoon, September 11, a week from today, at 3:30, and then again on Saturday afternoon, September 15, at 2:00. That’s RFD-TV on Dish Network channel 345 and DirecTV channel 231.
(OLNEY) The “Designs of Duty” exhibit featuring East Central Illinois Veterans and their service-related tattoos is now on display at the Olney Public Library, from now until Friday, September 28. The “Design of Duty” exhibit tells the stories of seven military Veterans who served our country over a 45 year period throughout Asia and Europe. All are urged to visit the exhibit, now on display at the Olney Public Library.
(NEWTON) The Jasper County Solid Waste Program is continuing this week. The weekday morning dumpsters will be available from 7:30 to 12:00 noon each day. That’s today, Tuesday (9/4/18), at the Wheeler site, tomorrow (9/5/18) at the West Liberty location, and on Thursday (9/6/18) at the Rose Hill location. The Newton site, at the County Highway Garage Building, is open Saturday from 7:00 to 3:30.

Here’s the list of upcoming area blood drives : today (9/4/18) at the KC Hall in Teutopolis from 1:00 to 6:00 : tomorrow (9/5/18) at the Toledo Christian Church from 2:00 to 6:00 : Thursday (9/6/18) at the Blood Donation Center in Effingham from 12:15 to 6:45 : Friday (9/7/18) at the Hutsonville High School from 2:00 to 6:00 : all blood types and platelets are very much needed with a critical need now for type “O” blood.
