(NEWTON) The Jasper County FSA Office in Newton has several meetings this week to cover the 2018 Market Facilitation Program, which provides direct payments to help corn, cotton, sorghum, soybean, wheat, dairy, and hog producers who have been directly impacted by the recent agricultural product tariffs. Three daily meetings are today, tomorrow, and Thursday, September 4th, 5th, and 6th, from 8:00am to 1:00pm, at the Jasper County FSA Office in Newton. An additional meeting is this Wednesday night, September 5th, at the Newton Masonic Lodge, starting at 7:00. Both the application process and payment calculation for the MFP, plus more, will be covered during these meetings. Producers may apply for the MFP beginning today, this September 4, with the signup continuing through January 15, 2019.
