(OLNEY/NEWTON) The surface boundary that’s been approaching our downstate region for the past few days will become semi-stationary across the Midwestern area today. Therefore, most of the rain and storms will hang north of that line while those to the south of it will some sunshine and one last day of warm and humid air in place. The remnants of tropical storm Gordon will arrive to our downstate region by late Friday night with moderate to heavy rainfall expected Saturday morning through Saturday night with some rain lingering on Sunday. Anywhere from 3 to 6 inches of rain are possible for our area by Sunday. But the rain will quickly move out with dry conditions and somewhat cooler air moving in next week. Stay tuned for updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for continued weather information and details.
