(OLNEY/NEWTON) The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect for Richland, Jasper, and most all surrounding counties now through Sunday morning, plus a Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 8:15 this morning for Richland County and the portion of eastern Clay County. Doppler radar indicates that up to five (5) inches of rain had already fallen in a band near the Richland County / Clay County line. Periods of rain are expected to continue on-and-off through tonight with total amounts of rain between three (3) and six (6) inches anticipated by Sunday morning, if not more in some spots. The rain should end and clear out of our area on Sunday with dry and cooler air in place for the first half of next week.
