(OLNEY/NEWTON) The high pressure hanging over the Upper Midwest continues to control our downstate Illinois weather with plenty of sunshine, some clouds, and still rather cool conditions today. We’ll continue to stay dry and continue a slight warm up as we move through the remainder of this work week. However, our weekend weather remains with a battle between a Midwestern ridge and incoming Hurricane Florence. While the ridge looks to stay in control as the remnants of Florence will stall out with a slowed movement further inland, the Midwestern weather may just stand still until a developing cold front far to our northwest pushes through by mid-week, next week. That will be our next rain chance as well. Stay tuned for weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for weather alerts or warnings.
