(NEWTON/OLNEY) Today’s the deadline to sign up to attend one of three presentations and pasture walks coming up the first of next week on how to use adaptive livestock grazing to improve soil health, forage production, and farm finances. Organized by the Pasture Project and hosted by three different livestock operations, the events will feature a short presentation by Dr. Allen Williams on adaptive grazing principles and pasture walks to demonstrate how adaptive management can be successfully put into practice on a range of different farm operations and landscapes. Running from 4:30 to 7:00 each evening, the first event is next Monday (9/24/18) at the Beasley Family Beef Farm near Creal Springs, next Tuesday (9/25/18) at the Snow Dairy Cattle Farm near Mulberry, and next Wednesday at the Circle M Sheep Farm near Arrowsmith. Each event will feature a free supper as well. With the deadline to sign up today, this September 21, those interested can register online at www.bit.ly/IllinoisAdaptiveGrazing2018.
