(OLNEY/NEWTON) Ahead of an approaching cold front, our downstate area will see plenty of cloud cover today and a couple of waves of rain moving through. First this morning as showers and storms will move up from the southwest dropping up anywhere from a half inch to a full inch of rain, plus the chance of some severe weather conditions within the storms. Then after a dry period into early afternoon, we’ll have another chance of showers and thunderstorms developing ahead of the front, which is expected to move through late tonight. We’ll have a wind switch and then some cooler air will filter in behind the front. We will then stay dry and cool conditions in place for the rest of the work week and likely right on through the final weekend of September with plenty of sunshine on tap as well. Stay tuned for continued weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for updated forecast and/or any warnings or alerts.
