(NEWTON) Members of 100+ Women Who Care Jasper County has selected the Jasper County School District’s Mentoring Program as the recipient of its $5,850 contribution collected at its second membership meeting of 2018 held earlier this month in Newton. The mentoring program matches community volunteers with students in kindergarten through high school. There are currently thirty-seven (37) mentors within the school district which visit their respective school once a week to meet with their student. The giving circle’s contribution will be used to host special events throughout the year, plus help purchase needed material and resources for those involved. The 100+ Women Who Care Jasper County will hold its next meeting on November 1 in Newton. For more information, go online at www.enrichingourcommunity.org.
