(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has received recent reports from health care providers of nine sporadic, clinically diagnosed cases of acute flaccid myelitis (AFM). The state is now working with the health care providers to collect necessary information to send to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which will review the medical information to confirm the diagnosis. The case reports are from individuals younger than 18 years old and all from northern Illinois, although no specific locations are available. (SPRINGFIELD) To help remember Veterans, tell their incredible stories, and to honor their service on Veterans Day 2018 coming up next month, State Senator Dale Righter of Mattoon is encouraging all area constituents to submit a tribute and photo of their loved ones who served our country to be displayed on the Veterans Day “Wall of Honor” in the Illinois Capitol November 5th through 16th. Families are to submit photos (military photos preferred, but not necessary) and written stories (maximum : 250 words) along with name, military branch, and conflict served.
