(OLNEY/NEWTON) As our downstate area sits between two weather systems, the low pressure system that brought us 2 to 3 inches of rain over the past 48 hours and another weaker low that currently sits over western Iowa. Clouds from the first system have begun to clear from west to east across Illinois with some sunshine expected today, however more clouds will build in with some very isolated showers possible later this evening through tonight. Then we’re back to some sunshine tomorrow before another cold front moves through with rain chances early Sunday morning and continuing into Monday and Tuesday of next week. Then a period of cool and dry weather will persist for the last of next week. Stay tuned for continued weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for additional weather information and details.
