(OBLONG) The Oblong Sports Boosters will have their “Back to School Basket Binga” this coming Saturday evening at the Oblong Elementary School Gym. The doors open at 5:30 with games starting at 6:30. The tickets are $15 to play ten games and will be on sale at the door. Additional games, raffles, an auction, a silent auction, and concessions will also be a part of the event. (DIETERICH) The Dieterich High School will have its annual “Meet the Movin’ Maroons” night this Friday night. The DHS senior class will host a soup supper from 4:30 to 6:30 in the school cafeteria. The pregame music with the band starts at 5:40, two chorus students will perform the National Anthem at 6:00, and the school song will be led by the cheerleaders and the dance and flag teams. Then the introduction of the cheerleaders and the band, plus a performance and introduction of the dance team, followed by the introduction and short scrimmage games with the girls and boys basketball teams. Admission to the “Meet the Movin’ Maroons” night at DHS is a personal hygiene item to be donated to the U.S. Veterans at the Danville VA Hospital. (ALBION) The Edwards County High School in Albion will conduct a “Meet the Teams Night” this coming Friday night in the ECHS Gym, giving parents, guardians, and others the chance to take pictures starting at 5:15. The cheerleaders and girls and boys basketball teams will be introduced at around 6:30, followed by a boys basketball scrimmage at 6:45 and a girls basketball scrimmage at 7:00. Admission is a non-perishable food item with all food to be donated to a local food pantry. Everyone invited to Albion.
(OLNEY) The Richland County High School will host its “Meet the Tigers” night this coming Friday night in Ron Herrin Gym. While team and individual pictures will be taken earlier in the day, the doors to the gym will open at 6:15 with the team introductions to begin at 6:30, including wrestling, boys swimming, girls basketball, cheer and dance teams, and boys basketball. The RCHS basketball teams will then have short scrimmages with the girls at 6:45, followed by the boys. “Meet the Tigers” night this Friday night.
