(OLNEY/NEWTON) With a cold front pushing through the Upper Midwest with plenty of rain way to our north, we’ll see a dry sky today with plenty of sunshine and a very gusty west wind. Tonight, a subtle surface trough will shift through our downstate area and it could produce a few spotty rain showers, but they will be few and far between. It’s back to sunshine and some cooler air filtering in for tomorrow, but then a re-enforced shot of cold air moves in for Thursday and right on into the upcoming weekend. In fact, our temperatures will continue to drop from Thursday through Saturday until they rebound a bit on Sunday. It will be a mostly dry period, although a slight chance of some rain likely, possibly mixed with light snow, Thursday night. Stay tuned for weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for details.
