(MT. CARMEL) In their first-ever appearance at the U.S. National 3D Collegiate Championships, the Wabash Valley College Archery team brought home hardware in mixed team competition, with all five (5) team members competing individually in their respective class. Held last month in Alabama, there were 32 colleges and universities represented with 335 total shooters making up 48 teams. The Wabash Valley Archery team did very well individually. Among 80 men competitors, Jacob Quillen from West Salem placed 5th and Zachary Kemper from Mt. Carmel placed 25th. Among 67 women competitors, Jessica Shilling from Parkersburg placed 5th and Karissa McIntire from Sumner placed 7th. Among 55 in the open class, Taylor LaVarier from Mt. Carmel placed 41st overall. In the men and women’s mixed team contest, Quillen and Shilling placed 3rd overall. Congratulations to the five area bow shooters from Wabash Valley College with a Third place finish, two Top Five’s, and a Top Ten in the national competition.
